50 Cent’s Son Made A Diss Track Targeted At His Own Father

Marquise Jackson, 50 Cent’s oldest son and an aspiring rapper, recently dropped a new track titled “Different” on Monday (Feb. 6) and that’s definitely one way to describe the song. The new single sounds a lot like a diss track that takes some shots at his own dad.

We’re guessing there’s no coincidence that Marquise dropped his new diss record on the same day that 50’s debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ turned 14. On the track, which is coming from Marquise’s mixtape Escape, the rapper gets candid about his strained relationship with his dad. “Lost my pops, he’s still alive,” he raps. As the hook rolls in, it seems like Jackson took another subtle blow at 50, calling him out for his failed promises. “What’s the difference between me and you? / you talk a good one, but you don’t do what you supposed to do,” he aggressively raps.

It’s no secret Marquise and 50 have an estranged relationship which stemmed from a feud between the Power actor and Marquise’s mother Shaniqua Tompkins. However, in recent months Marquise has publicly spoken out about his father. In a recent interview with Rap-Up on Feb. 6, Marquise detailed when the father-son relationship went sour. “Growing up, my dad was my superhero. It was like having a father who was Superman, more or less,” he told the publication. “But then, as I got older, you start realizing things or you start seeing certain patterns and it takes an effect on your relationship with people. That’s what happened with me and my father.” His comments come shortly after he demanded on Instagram that fans stop asking him to reach out to his dad because he was “blocked.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Marquise will be smoothing anything over with his father anytime soon. 50 has yet to comment on the diss track. Listen to “Different” below.
