When you’re in a girl group, dancing is a part of the deal. Unless you’re Kandi Burruss.
Ahead of their highly-anticipated reunion tour, Xscape met up with choreographer Andrea Lee Kelly to brush up on some moves and let the the people know they haven’t lost it in their years out of the spotlight. A large part of their show is coordinated dancing, so it only made sense to have their sexy stage moves down —but Kandi was not here for it.
The Xscape member and ESSENCE cover girl confesses in a recently released clip of the group’s upcoming reality show — Xcsape: Still Kickin’ It — that she’s not the best dancer and is not too confident in her moves.
“You got to come out like, ‘Girl. I was doing this when you were an egg and a sperm,'” Kelly said during the practice session.
“One thing I am nervous about… all of the girls can dance really well,” Kandi admits. “I’m the only one who’s not that great of a dancer.”
While Tameka Cottle, LaTocha Scott and Tamika Scott eagerly participate in the dance session, Kandi is hilariously standing to the side looking miserable.
“I don’t dip it. I don’t swing it,” she said in the confessional.
