White Baltimore Teacher Calls Black Students “Punk A** N*****s”

A white Baltimore school teacher was swiftly fired after footage showed her calling a classroom full of black students “punk a** n*****s.”

A student in the eighth grade science class at Baltimore’s Harlem Park Elementary and Middle School began recording the grainy one minute and 22-second video. In the clip, the teacher is irate and kicks out an unruly student. She’s can be heard screaming “get out of my class.”

The teacher, still upset, then turns her anger towards the class and unleashes a rant of racial slurs. She threatens they won’t pass the class because they’re “idiots” for not doing any of the work she assigns. The real damage then comes when the teacher, calls the students “punk a** n*****s” who are “gonna get shot because you’re stupid.”

The short, but racially charged video went viral on Facebook after a student came home and showed a parent. Erica Gales Deminds, 32, was floored by the abusive language she heard and witnessed in the video and uploaded it. Deminds said she didn’t expect the video to take off like it did, however, she was shocked because she met the teacher a few times and said in their meeting she was pleasant.

“She’s a very nice teacher. I can’t say what happened that day. I think she was at a breaking point,” Deminds said. Baltimore City Public School officials released a statement after terminating the teacher’s employment.

“At Baltimore City Public Schools, we are committed to creating positive and equitable learning environments in school communities where all members are welcome, supported, and valued. No form of discriminatory behavior of any kind is or will be tolerated,” the statement read.
