Kanye West visits mother’s grave in Oklahoma City with Kim Kardashian and their two kids

Kanye West and his family began the New Year with a trip to Oklahoma City to visit the gravesite of his late mother.

The hip-hop star was spotted getting off a private jet in Los Angeles alongside wife Kim Kardashian and their two young children North and Saint on Monday following a return flight back from the Oklahoma capital city, where Donda West is buried, TMZ reported.

It’s the first time West has taken his entire family to visit Donda following her death in 2007, and the “Fade” artist also met up with other members of his extended family during the visit, according to the gossip site.

The trip was reportedly very important to West, who has often commemorated his mother’s life and trumpeted his affection for her since her passing. West’s highly emotive 2014 track with Paul McCartney, “Only One,” is a heartfelt tribute to his mother, and it’s written as a message to the rapper told from Donda’s perspective.

West has only made a few public appearances since his nervous breakdown late last year, which left him hospitalized for more than a week. His medical emergency was triggered in part by the anniversary of Donda’s death, which occurred in November 2007, according to TMZ.

He canceled a Los Angeles concert on Nov. 20 — the 9-year anniversary of her funeral — before nixing the remainder of his “Saint Pablo Tour” and going to the hospital the following day.

The rapper wasn’t seen with his family in the days immediately following his release from the UCLA Medical Center but has since been spotted getting dinner with Kardashian and attending “The Nutcracker” in California with his entire family in recent weeks.

Kardashian, meanwhile, has remained mostly out of the spotlight since being robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room in early October.

There was notably no security in sight during West and Kardashian’s family outing to “The Nutcracker.”
