J. Cole’s New Album Breaks Streaming Records, Beating Drake

J. Cole released his latest album, KOD, on Friday, April 20. Billboardnow reports that the LP has broken Apple Music’s record for most first-day album streams, as well as Spotify’s record for most first-day U.S. album streams. With 64.5 million plays on Apple Music, Cole beat the previous record held by Drake’s VIEWS (which was originally released exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes) by over a million streams. At 36.6 million plays on Spotify, he beat out the record previously held by Drake’s More Life.
