Bad Boys spin-off LA’s Finest is heading to TV on Canada’s Bell Media.
Which means that, yep, it’ll air in Canada while a US broadcaster is decided on.
The Canadian network has picked up the show – starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba – from Sony Pictures Television after package buying at the Los Angeles Screenings.
The show is a female take on the classic Bad Boys films, which starred Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Union reprises her role as Special Agent Syd Burnett from 2003’s Bad Boys II.
According to the show’s official synopsis, free-spirited Syd has now moved from Miami to Los Angles for a fresh start and a new job as an LAPD detective.
On the job, she is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mum who’s envious of Syd’s no-strings-attached lifestyle. The two women are opposites, but both are at the top of their fields.
Producing is Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad, who made the Bad Boys movies, while Alba and Union are also executive producers.
