TV ONE PAYS HOMAGE TO BILL BELLAMY WITH “UNSUNG HOLLYWOOD” EPISODE PREMIERING WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16 AT 8 P.M. ET

TV One’s Unsung Hollywood is highlighting the life and career of Comedian-Actor Bill Bellamy on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Bellamy first shot to fame as part of HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” in the 1990s and then as a premiere MTV VJ.  Since then he has enjoyed a wide-ranging career in film and TV with roles in “Love Jones,” “How to Be A Player,” and “Any Given Sunday.”  The cousin of Shaquille O’Neal, he’s also made his mark as the voice of Skeeter in “Cousin Skeeter”; as the host of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing; and TV One’s “Who’s Got Jokes.”

 

Through first-hand accounts, interviews with family and friends, and archival footage, each episode of TV One’s signature series weaves a tale of the highs and lows of a life in the limelight. The poignant stories of Unsung and Unsung Hollywood offer insight into the trials and triumphs faced in both private and public forums.

 

Following the debut of Unsung Hollywood: Bill Bellamy, TV One’s longest running and award-winning Unsung series continues with new episodes every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET featuring hit makers and game changers Kurupt on Nov. 23, Frankie Knuckles and the Roots of House on Nov. 30 and Bobby Bland on Dec. 7.
