After unveiling Mariah Carey as the first performer of VH1’s forthcoming Divas Holiday special Unsilent Night, another icon has been added to the bill: Patti LaBelle.
The legendary singer — and sweet potato pie entrepreneur — will be serving up sweet melodies, like she did on her holiday-themed albums, 1990’s This Christmas and 2007’s Miss Patti’s Christmas. LaBelle is also a Divas alum, having performed at the 2004 benefit concert for VH1 Save the Music Foundation in Las Vegas alongside Jessica Simpson, Joss Stone, Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry and Gladys Knight.
“I’m so thrilled to share the VH1 Divas stage with Mariah, who is not only an incredible performer, but also my goddaughter,” LaBelle said in a statement.
The VH1 Divas franchise is returning after a four-year hiatus, and Unsilent Night will air Monday, Dec. 5, at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
