Normani “Waves” Feat. 6LACK Out Now

Multi-platinum selling and chart-topping recording artist Normani has released “Waves” featuring 6LACK today.

Featured as Zane Lowe’s World Record today, “Waves” is released via Keep Cool/RCA Records. Normani debuted “Waves” last month at Tidal X where she also performed her #1 hit single “Love Lies” and “Checklist” from her recent collaboration with Calvin Harris. Following her performance at Tidal X, Billboard declared, “Normani is well on her way to solo stardom.”

The release of “Waves” comes a week after it was announced that Normani will be joining Ariana Grande on the first leg of The Sweetener World Tour. The tour will kick off in North America on March 18th in Albany, NY and continue through June 18th in New York, NY at Madison Square Garden (see below for a full list of dates).

ABOUT NORMANI: Best-known as one of the four members in the multi-platinum group Fifth Harmony, Normani began to explore a new musical direction on her debut solo single “Love Lies” with Khalid. Since its release, the song has been streamed over 650 million times while the official video has over 85 million views on YouTube. “Love Lies” held the #1 spot at Top 40 radio for two consecutive weeks (currently #4) this fall and has spent over 37 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 (#9 peak).

While in the process of recording her debut solo album, Normani has collaborated with some of today’s top artists including Calvin Harris, Khalid, Quavo, Jessie Reyez, Kehlani, and more. In a feature with The FADER this summer, they proclaimed, “the list of people lining up to work with her is insanely impressive” and that “Normani’s new sound is grown and sexy.”

Outside of the recording studio, Normani is the Global Ambassador to the American Cancer Society and works with A Place Called Home, lending her name and time to various events. She is also a Diversity Ambassador for The CyberSmile Foundation, a multi-award winning anti cyberbullying non-profit organization.

ABOUT 6LACK: Born Ricardo Valdez Valentine, 6LACK was raised in Atlanta’s Zone 6 and had his first recording experience at his father’s studio at the age of four. Inspired by R&B and soul artists like Sade and Usher, he taught himself to sing as a teenager and began writing intensely personal songs that drew from his relationships and experiences with homelessness. Soon after joining Atlanta-based creative collective LoveRenaissance (LVRN), he landed a deal with Interscope Records and set to work on FREE 6LACK. Hailed by Rolling Stone as “a brooding rumination on feeling free that plays like a hip-hop-informed version of The xx’s tight and skeletal gloom,” the album climbed to #34 on the Billboard 200.  His newest album, East Atlanta Love Letter,  features the title track with guest vocals from Future and “Pretty Little Fears,” ft. J. Cole.  EALL has been hailed by critics as a masterpiece and debuted at the top of Billboard’s R&B chart.
