Barack Obama’s Vacation Pics Will Brighten Your Life

Barack Obama continues to inspire us, by simply living his best life. Billionaire Richard Branson shared footage of Obama enjoying his vacation and diving into a few new watersports on Branson’s private island.

The former President is back in Washington D.C., but Branson posted a few photos from their hangout at Moskito Island on his personal blog on Tuesday (Feb. 7).  Brandon explained how he hoped to be a good host to Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama. Branson took part in a few watersports competitions with Obama. Branson, who owns Necker Island and Moskito Island, is the founder of Virgin Airlines, Virgin Records and 400 other companies.

After Obama had shared with Branson his past interest in surfing (just too cool), Branson provided him with kitesurfing lessons while he took on the challenge of foilboarding. They would later see who would stay up the longest.

“Barack started learning to kitesurf on the beach on Necker for two days solid, picking up the basics and flying a kite as if going back to being a child again,” Branson said. “Then he went into the water, standing up and getting a feel for the kite. Finally, he put the board at his feet and gave it a go. Being the former president of America, there was lots of security around, but Barack was able to really relax and get into it.” Obama was obviously a pro and won the battle, 100m to 50m.

“Now he has left, I’m going back into the water to practice for the next challenge,” Branson wrote. “On his next visit, we plan to do the long kite over to Anegada together. Next time, may the best (British) man win!”

We’re glad to see Obama enjoy himself. The former commander and chief exited the White House with one of the highest approval ratings in recent memory. Many of his admirers are currently waiting to see what he and Michelle have lined up next. Before their vacation, the couple launched the Obama Foundation, a philanthropic organization that promises to uplift education and more, starting with programs in Chicago.
